The door to her bedroom opened and she looked up, alarmed until she saw who it was.

"What're you doing here?" she whispered.

He walked silently over to the bed, where she sat reading a file. Gently, he took her glasses off and put them aside. She blinked to help her eyes readjust and in that moment his lips were on hers. It was a light touch, but she felt it all the way down her body. He pulled away to drop soft kisses down her neck.

She shivered, whispering his name.

He stopped and looked at her, staring into her eyes as his fingers brushed her cheek. His expression was a questioning one as he waited.

She said his name again, stronger this time. She stared, shocked at the words echoing in her mind, begging to be said.

"I lo-"

CJ sprang up in bed, startled by the car alarm that had just begun. Shaking, she sat up while her pulse slowed. Gradually, she realized it hadn't been just the car alarm that had elevated her pulse.

She glanced at the clock. Four in the morning, she told herself as her hand reached for the phone. She sighed as she saw her fingers dial a number, even while her rational mind was telling her to hang up.

She smiled when the familiar voice answered.

"Danny. What are you doing?"

"Finishing a story," he told her, slightly distracted as he typed up his notes from the notebook in front of him.

"You keep the weirdest hours," she relaxed and smiled.

"Did you want something?"

CJ took a deep breath. "Can you come over?"

"Over where?" Danny turned a page in his notebook.

"My apartment."

He paused and looked up, his eyes wide. "Okay," he managed.

"I have something I need to tell you."

"I'll be there as soon as I can." Danny told her quietly, shock and elation warring within him.

CJ gently replaced the phone, a faint smile on her face.
