Disclaimer: Show = not mine, song = not mine

Yes, that's right, I've written a song fic... I think. I swore I would never do that, though I've since forgotten the reason why. So, while listening to Celine Dion's new album (which is great, everyone go buy it), this little scene popped into my head. If you know the song, you can skip the lyrics. But for those who don't, they're first. I also tried to find a clip of the song, to no avail.

Lyrics:

When the Wrong One Loves You Right
Celine Dion

Don't care, what they think
How they feel, or what they say
You're everything, I never knew
I always wanted, baby
I've been warned, so many times
They tell me I've Ignored the signs

But nobody knows you like I do
The only one for me is you

I can't stop, can't fight, can't resist it
When the wrong one loves you right
(Oh-oh-oh-oh-yeah)
Can't run - can't hide - can't say no
When the wrong one loves you right
(Oh-oh-oh oh)
When the wrong one loves you right

Getting tired, of hearing that
You're dangerous, but they won't stop
Until I leave, they won't believe
That being with you won't break my heart
So worried 'bout, the road ahead
They can't see that, you're my best friend

They're never gonna take me away from you
There's nothing they can do

I can't stop, can't fight, can't resist it
...

How can I walk away
When the feeling's so strong
I know you're where I belong
They say I let my heart
Make up my mind
That's why I'll never say goodbye
I can't stop, can't fight, can't resist it
...

CJ broke away, her eyes still closed as she took a deep breath. "We can't keep doing this," she said softly. "It's wrong."

"I thought we were doing it right. Felt good to me." Danny touched her cheek. She opened her eyes and he saw the regret.

"I don't mean the kisses, Danny." She smiled, "Those we did right. They were..." She broke off and glanced away. "But this..." she gestured between them. "Whatever it is, it's wrong."

"I don't believe that. Neither do you." He pleaded with her.

She stared at him sadly as she stepped back. His hand fell from her cheek and their physical connection was broken.

"You're wrong for me." CJ paused as she saw the wall go up in Danny's eyes. She sighed. "For the moment, you're the wrong one."

"And later?" Danny asked icily.

"Later might be different. At least, I hope it will be."

"So you want me to wait for you?" He shot at her and she winced at the tone of his voice. "Just sit here and twiddle my thumbs?"

She caught his eyes and held them. "I want you to wait, but only if you want to."

Danny stared at her. He made himself ignore the pleading hurt in her eyes.

And then he turned and walked out of her office.
